The 70's are back! Is your home ready?   As with all trends, if you wait long enough it will come back in style and macramé is definitely back. Before writing this, I went and researched and found some vintage design books and I can say that I do like the more current versions of this trend more than the originals.  The vintage items are very earthy with lots of brown tones with beading, but their newer versions feel much lighter and brighter. Expect to see neon and more interesting accents like driftwood or arrows, lots of texture and fun patterns. I also paired this with hanging planters because I feel like they go hand and hand with the macramé wall hangings.  I do recall my mother having a hanging planter on the patio for many years ( back in the early 1980's). Again, these are much updated versions of the original trend, some with macramé and some with more simple finishes, but all with a more modern feel. In the newer versions I'm drawn towards planters with geometric patterns, but in earthy colors. Will you be bringing a bit of the 70's to your home this year?
