Studio Location: Albion, New York
My Studio is in Downtown Albion, NY. A very small town placed between Rochester and Buffalo.
It's a part of trying to restore historic downtown Albion. The building is placed on main street just one block south of the Erie Canal. We are hoping to help build albion back up and give the Erie canal travelers a nice place to visit.
The Pratt Opera house is the historical building where my shop is located. It is a series of little stores, coffee shop and Co-op. Also, I am able to use this stage for some of my photography shoots! Its been a little to cold to do any yet, but soon I hope.
History and Inspiration:
My craft had a mind of its own. Now, when I think back to when it all started it's like really? How did that happen? Working two other jobs at the time, I was really looking for a creative outlet. Craving to do something that I enjoyed and was fulfilling. Both mentally and creatively! The mental part: being that I can actually make something that someone else would like to buy. MAN! That feels good!!
Creatively: Being totally hands on with something and bringing to life the vision I have to an actual product.
Tools of the Trade:
Strong arms, good music & coffee!
Music or Silence:
Oh yes! Music has to be playing. If it is too quiet I think too loud. Never good!
Rewards of Handmade:
The feedback! Return customers. I get so pumped when I see the little star by the customers name. It means they are back for more. Therefore, I must be doing something right. Fist pump! LOL!
