History and Inspiration:

I've been making things since I was a little girl. My mom and grandmother were huge influences and have always supported my creative spirit. I have a degree in interior design and I'm very proud graduate of VCU's School of the Arts, which continues to be ranked as the #1 public art school in the United States. My inspiration is drawn from nature, fashion, and mid century modern design.

Tools:

I think anyone working with fabric would agree that a great pair of scissors is essential. Also topping the list are my fabrics and sewing machine. I also can't live without my moleskine sketch book.

Music or Silence:

Great question. I do not work well in silence. In fact, I require background noise. If I'm not playing music, I have a tv on at all times.

Rewards of Creating Handmade Goods:

It's incredibly rewarding to watch something start as a sketch and develop into a finished piece. Flipping the pillow covers right side out and seeing my design finished for the first time is the best!
